Fox River/Chain of Lakes Flood Reporting
This form is to be utilized by residents of the Chain of Lakes system to document when and where flooding occurs. The information will be logged into a database to identify operation or maintenance needs. The data provided is critical in determining potential operations and maintenance of the system. The Office of Water Resources may pursue project funding to reduce impacts. The more documentation that is received, the easier the agency is able to determine the priority of future actions. Click Here to identify any flooding at homes with photos and submit them to IDNR so they have a better idea of where the water is flooding. It will aid in mapping out where the water is rising and have data for the future.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District Siren Maintenance
Braniff Communications will be performing annual maintenance of the tornado sirens for all the Township jurisdiction between April 8th – April 12th. The only audible alarm will be a short “growl test”; while maintenance is being performed, you may hear a momentary sound from the siren as it begins an actual start-up. Once activated, it will then stop. There will be no prolonged sounding of the siren. The maintenance work is to make sure there is no damage and/or all parts are working properly. Questions can be directed to the McHenry Township Fire Protection District at (815) 385-0075.

33rd Annual Super Raffle
The  Johnsburg Community Men's Club Super Raffle Committee is opening the 33rd Annual Super Raffle event up for the community to attend on Saturday, April 20, 2024, after 7:30p.m. Community members & guests will be able to participate in the 50/50 Raffle, Raffle Prizes, Cash Bar, Live music from “STU - The Piano Guy", and Silent Auction items which will include two (2) tickets to a Taylor Swift concert. Annual Business Registration due by April 30th
Please be advised that, Chapter 7 of the Johnsburg Municipal Code requires all businesses with buildings, premises or operating from a residence (Zoning Sec. 7.5 Home Occupations) in the Village to register with the Village Clerk no later than April 30th of each year. The Business Registration Form along with an annual registration fee of $25.00 must be submitted to the Village Clerk by April 30th. The fee shall be waived for not-for-profit businesses, please make certain to submit supportive correspondence with your application.

Alternatives to Landscape Waste Accumulation
There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information. P.P.W.C. Hydrant Flushing Notification
Prairie Path Water Company (PPWC) has announced that they will begin flushing the water lines serving their customers beginning on Monday, April 22, 2024 through Tuesday, April 30, 2024, weather permitting. The flushing will begin at approximately 8:00a.m. and end at approximately 4:30p.m. Flushing will be done Monday – Friday, no weekends. Please limit water use during these times. Residents and businesses on this system may experience brief periods of lower-than-normal water pressure, possible cloudy water and/or temporary discoloration. Once the flushing is complete, normal water quality and pressure will be restored. Should you experience any water quality issues following this work, they ask that you flush your cold-water line for approximately 2-3 minutes. ComEd - Tree Trimming To Begin Soon
Arborists performing vegetation management for ComEd will be working in your neighborhood over the next 3 months.  The work will include the trimming of trees branches and vines that interfere or have the potential to interfere with power lines. In some cases, tree removal may be required. The remaining tree stumps are treated with an approved herbicide to prevent future regrowth. Herbicide will be applied by state licensed applicators. Help Raise Funds for Johnsburg Boys Basketball - Donate Your Shoes
Donate your gently worn, used or new shoes today! Shoes can be dropped off at all Johnsburg school offices and the David G. Dominguez Municipal Center (Village Hall; 1515 Channel Beach Ave). Funds2Orgs will take collected shoes to be reused and given a second life by those in need through #microenterprise.

McHenry County Lead Safe Homes Program
The mission of the program is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in all low and moderate income privately owned rental and/or owner occupied housing populations throughout McHenry County. This goal will be achieved using identification and control of lead-based paint hazards. They are committed to making healthy homes and safe environments available to all children aged 5 and under in the county by addressing a multitude of hazards in area homes where children are or can be present. RFP - Website Design and Hosting Services
The Village of Johnsburg, Illinois has issued a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to companies (“the Vendor”) interested in providing comprehensive website design services for the Village’s website (Home Page | Johnsburg Illinois). The Village of Johnsburg is looking to partner with a qualified vendor to create a website with an attractive design that is user-friendly and informative. The current website was last refreshed visually and navigationally in 2016 and is looking to launch a revamped website before the end of the 2024 calendar year. Open Burning of Landscape Waste
Landscape waste may be burned on Saturdays and Sundays from dawn through dusk during Spring months of April and May. The burning of landscape waste is permitted only when winds are less than 10 mph. The burning site must be a minimum of 100’ from any principal structure and supervised at all times by an individual at least 18 years of age. A fire extinguisher, garden hose or water source must be available at the burning site. Prohibited at all times is the burning of manure, garbage, construction materials, litter, grass clippings (eff. 10/5/2021) and etc...on any property. We have seen and received multiple complaints of residents not complying with the ordinance, please be advised violators will be cited. Recreational fires and ceremonial fires are exempt but may not be larger than 3’x3’x3’ and cannot contain leaves, grass or shrubbery clippings. Click here for the requirements.

Riverside Drive Road Improvement Project - Upcoming Lane and Road Closure Notification
Phase 1 of the Riverside Drive Road Improvement Project is proceeding this year. The improvements include the complete replacement of the box culverts at the Dutch Creek bridge, the resurfacing of Riverside Drive (between Running Brook Farms subdivision and Johnsburg Road), and the grading and preparation for a multi-use path along the roadway. Effective Wednesday, May 1, 2024 Riverside Dr will be CLOSED to thru-traffic from Running Brook Farm Blvd to Johnsburg Rd to accommodate the bridge culvert replacement. Lane closures will continue once the bridge is replaced to accommodate the remaining work. Detour routes will be in place and traffic in and around the area will be limited to local traffic only (the 2800 - 3600 block addresses of Riverside Drive)The project is expected to be substantially completed by the Fall 2024 (weather permitting).  Further information will be provided as the project progresses. If you have any questions, please call the Village Hall at (815) 385-6023.
