Explorer Post 567

The Explorer Post help youths gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in law enforcement, this program offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.
The presence of an explorer post within any agency can be a positive factor in influencing departmental attitudes, both internally and externally. Explorers are given an opportunity to see firsthand the efforts of sworn personnel. Additionally, sworn personnel normally exposed to youths involved with criminal offenses can observe and experience the positive side of young America. Explorer posts provide the law enforcement community an opportunity to further an investment in its own future through relationships with fit and capable young adults.
The current post is comprised of approximately 10 members from the Johnsburg and McHenry communities. Officer Del Re currently oversees the Police Explorer program.
