Church Street Realignment Project - East of Johnsburg Rd - (1716 - 1814 Block)
Church Street (between N. Johnsburg Road and Sunnyside Beach Drive) is currently open, final surface paving is complete along with shoulder gravel and landscaping stabilization. Anticipated look ahead involves striping, crosswalk installation and minor concrete work (weather permitting).

Sunnyside Beach Road Improvement Project
Anticipated adjusted look ahead schedule (weather permitting); on Monday, November 6th Sunnyside Beach Dr roadway specific work includes Milling operations until Wednesday (11/08/2023). This will be followed by cement stabilization process; this process involves spreading a thin layer of a cement-like material on the roadway and utilizing specialized machinery to mix. They will begin at both Sunnyside Beach Dr points (1300 Block and 1800 Block) meeting at Church St intersection. Awarded Contractor (Lenny Hoffman Excavating, Inc.) will be making sure that traffic can move in and out of the neighborhood as they go, process does involve a moving road-closure. What this means is that for about an hour, as the crew is moving, access to either your parking spot or driveway will be limited or closed. There will be lots of signage, caution tape, and contractor notification, when this is going to occur. While this is an invasive process, it is only anticipated to take 1-2 days to complete (Wednesday 11/08 and Thursday 11/09). All that is asked is that while driving and you see the gray power on the ground, please don’t drive on it. Once the cement is mixed in and the ground; regraded and compacted, you will be able to drive on it like normal. This will be by the end of the day. This may cause residents to have ingress and egress via the N Riverview Dr. or Church St. access points for residents along Sunnyside Beach Dr. Click here for further information and temporary alterative parking available.

The Contractor (Peter Baker & Son Co.) is currently scheduled to work Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm. The alternative route at 1100 block of River Terrace gate will be open for access and traffic flow.
