Easter Egg Hunt 2024 - Mark your Calendars
The Village of Johnsburg along with the Community Affairs Committee and other volunteer organizations are hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th at Sunnyside Memorial Park (1515 Channel Beach Ave) beginning at 11:00a.m. (sharp), we have candy filled Eggs thanks to some generous sponsors (6,000 eggs). There will be 3 separate hunts broken down by age group and start times. Come join your neighbors for some Spring Fun! Bring your own basket to collect your eggs and watch for a Hoppy Visitor! Johnsburg H.S. Baseball Dugout Club Fundraiser

Nicor Gas Virtual Energy Assistance Fair – Free
Nicor Gas believes every family deserves reliable and affordable energy. As part of their ongoing commitment to empowering their customers with options that promote affordability and efficiency, Nicor Gas is hosting a FREE Virtual Fair on Thursday, March 7th from 5:00p.m -7:00p.m. to educate customers about available energy efficiency and assistance tools. Open Burning of Landscape Waste - Prohibited!
Keep in mind that the burning of landscape waste is not permitted at this time, violators will be fined. Landscape waste can only be burned during the months of April, May, October and November provided that setbacks and other requirements can be met. Recreational fires and ceremonial fires are exempt but may not be larger than 3’x3’x3’ and cannot contain leaves, grass or shrubbery clippings. Click here for the requirements.
Johnsburg Sled Hill - CLOSED
That’s right, the Village of Johnsburg has a Sled Hill! Sunnyside Memorial Park (1515 Channel Beach Ave) and it is available to all residents. Please ensure to comply with the posted Sled Hill Rules or click here for Municipal Code Ch. 8. Currently CLOSED, please check back later.
Johnsburg Outdoor Ice Rink - CLOSED
The Village of Johnsburg has the Ice Rink! Rescue Squad Park (2410 W. Johnsburg Rd) and it is available to all residents. Please ensure to comply with the posted Ice Rink Rules or click here for Municipal Code Ch. 8. Surface preparations are completed in the a.m. hours for afternoon and evening skating, if snow accumulates on-top we ask to stay off the ice until preparations for day are completed. Currently CLOSED, please check back next year.
Johnsburg Jr. Skyhawk’s Football (Registration is Open)
Start your Jr Skyhawk Football adventure with JJSF (incoming 1st graders-8th grade)! Registration is now open and will run through for flag registration February 29, 2024 and tackle through May 31, 2024. Click here for further information.
McHenry County Lead Safe Homes Program
The mission of the program is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in all low and moderate income privately owned rental and/or owner occupied housing populations throughout McHenry County. This goal will be achieved using identification and control of lead-based paint hazards. They are committed to making healthy homes and safe environments available to all children aged 5 and under in the county by addressing a multitude of hazards in area homes where children are or can be present.
