Dunkin’ Cop on Rooftop
The 17th Annual Dunkin’ Cop on Rooftop event will take place on Friday, May 17th from 5:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. During this fundraiser, Village of Johnsburg's Finest will stake out Dunkin’ Rooftop (3523 Diamond Dr, McHenry) and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. Come out and show your support! Multiple attire items available for purchase.

Family Garden Party​
The Johnsburg Public Library invites you to come make your mark Saturday, May 18th at 1:00p.m. (tentative rain date Saturday, May 25th at 1:00p.m.) at the library garden by prepping beds, planting, and decorating garden markers. Participants are encouraged to visit (and snack on!) their efforts all season long. Event is for ages 7 and up with an adult, registration is required by calling the library at 815-344-0077. Click here for further information.

Electronic Waste Recycling and Brush Drop Off​
The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents.  Your next opportunity to recycle is Saturday, May 18th from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week. Drop off is located in the township employee parking lot at 3703 N. Stuff the Duffel – Campaign to help foster Children
In honor of AJ Freund the Johnsburg Public Library is participating in the Stuff... A complete list of needed and acceptable items (all must be new) is available at the library. Items will be accepted until Monday, May 20th. Please contact the library with any further question at (815) 344-0077.

Memorial Day in Johnsburg
Memorial Day in Johnsburg is a patriotic event like no other.  Gather your family and join fellow friends and neighbors to honor veterans, both past and present on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. Plan to be on the bridge sidewalk by 8:30a.m. to enjoy the patriotic performances of the Johnsburg High School band, choir and buglers. The Johnsburg VFW will conduct the opening ceremony at 9:00a.m. at the Waterfront Hotel & Marina riverfront patio by the Chapel Hill Bridge. A river wreath ceremony will follow to honor those lost at sea during naval battles. After the events conclude at the Waterfront Hotel & Marina, a parade will proceed to the Johnsburg Community Club’s Armed Forces Memorial for a concluding ceremony.  The parade will travel along Chapel Hill Road through the roundabout to St. John’s Avenue and end at Rescue Squad Memorial Park.  The concluding ceremony will take place immediately following the parade.  Antique and military vehicles will also be on display.

Anyone wishing to donate to this patriotic event can do so by dropping a check off at the Village Hall made out to the Johnsburg VFW Post 11496. 

Spring Brush Pick-Up - Mark Your Calendars
The Village's Spring Brush Pick-Up will begin Monday, June 3rd at 7:00a.m. All brush must be placed by the road no later than 7:00 a.m. on the 3rd of June and no sooner than one week prior, May 25th. Please follow the guidelines outlined in the Summer 2019 Newsletter arriving any day now or contact Village Hall (815) 385-6023 with any questions.
