What is Earth Day?
Earth Day has been held annually on April 22nd since 1970. Earth Day raises awareness of issues that impact the environment. It offers a great opportunity for people to learn about recycling, plastic pollution, sustainability, and how to make our communities safer, happier places for people and wildlife.
There are plenty of things to do at a park on Earth Day, whether you love swings and slides or team sports. For families that enjoy exploring playground equipment, floating along the lake and adventuring along walking trails, it’s a great day to appreciate the wonderful outdoor spaces available to us in Johnsburg. Residents of Chicago and other towns and cities further afield may also wish to visit Johnsburg for Earth Day weekend, to enjoy quieter village life, fresh air and starry skies.
