Village of Johnsburg & Community Affairs Committee 4th Annual Fishing Derby
The Village of Johnsburg and Community Affairs Committee along with generous donations from our sponsor, the Johnsburg Lions Club, are hosting the 4th Annual Fishing Derby at the Lion's Park and Fishing Pond (Hickory Way & Berwyn Ct) on Saturday, June 14, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with prizes available for four (4) age brackets. All proceeds will go back into the Fishing Pond Improvement Fund. Click here for further information, registration is now open at David G. Tunnel to Towers & McHenry Moose Lodge
Tunnel to Towers Foundation hosts a number of charitable golf events to benefit their programs and efforts. The Markets of Remington Farm Tomorrow
This year's first Farmer’s Market hosted by The Markets of Remington Farm (Honoring Johnsburg farming roots and small town charm, and supporting local small businesses) takes place Saturday, June 7, 2025 beginning at 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. at 3519 Chapel Hill Road (next to Prem Magnetics). The event will continue to take place each month on the first Saturday of the month through October. McHenry Township Fire Protection District - Life Jacket Loaner Program
MTFPD, in partnership with BoatUS Foundation, loans life jackets for a day or weekend. Fill out the form, or stop by the station at 3610 W. Elm Street, McHenry (corner of 120 & 31). Look for the entrance with the "Borrow Life Jackets Here" poster. Click here for further information. Life jacket rentals are first come based on availability. Alternatives to Landscape Waste Accumulation
There are other alternatives to burning your landscape materials. For more information, click here. The Health Department encourages more environmentally sound alternatives to burning of landscape waste and recommends composting, mulching and native landscaping as possible alternatives to reduce/reuse landscape waste, click here for further information. The Village's residential refuse and recycling service includes the removal of up to 8 bags or cans of landscape waste per week. For more information visit LRS - Johnsburg.

Prairie Path Water Company (PPWC) - Alert Notification
Prairie Path Water Company – Whispering Hills, local water provider to some areas within Village of Johnsburg jurisdiction. Please be advised that they are currently doing routine maintenance to the water tower (along 1220 Jasper Dr). While this maintenance is being performed, customers may experience water pressure fluctuations and discolored water. They request that during peak times (6:00am-9:00am and 4:00pm-9:00pm) during this maintenance you refrain from excess water usage such as watering lawns, landscaping, filling swimming pools, and washing vehicles. 
They apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience. If this message was incomplete or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact their Customer Service Department at 1-800-831-2359.

  • Eliminate distractions - Put the phone down and stay focused.
  • Obey signs & signals – Roadway signage and Traffic patterns shifts in work zones.

Please note with summer break approaching; Safe@Home is designed to prepare students to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with videos, fun games and role-playing exercises. Students will learn safety skills, child care skills, first aid and rescue skills (CPR and Choking), and life & business skills. Taught by CSO J. Jones, from the Johnsburg Police Department, on Saturday June 14, 2025, at David G. Electronic Waste Recycling & Brush Drop Off​
The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents. Your 2025 opportunity to recycle is Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week.
