eALERT - Johnsburg Police Department Press Release “Scam” Notification

Johnsburg Police Department Press Release “Scam” Alert
It seems that phone and internet scammers are very active again in our community, going as far as to identify themselves as some of our very own police officers. I wish to inform you that we will NEVER call you and request money or personal information to help you avoid arrest. If you have unpaid fines or “unfinished business” with us WE WILL come visit you, or request that you come to the Police Department to address any of these concerns. Please do not allow yourselves to be victimized by these predators. If you receive a call from Law Enforcement requesting money, please question its legitimacy, and please contact the Johnsburg Police Department at 815-385-6024 prior to taking any other action. Remember, they are persuasive, and they will use the threats of arrest or prosecution against yourself and or family members to obtain money and personal information. We appreciate your consideration/sharing of this information and remind you to stay safe, and take care of one another!
